Charles Burgess Kelley was born on 11th September 1981, in Augusta, Georgia USA, an is a musician, singer, best known to the world as the singer with the country trio Lady Antebellum, also consisting of Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood. So far, they have released five studio albums, four of which have topped the US Country chart, and achieved platinum status. Charles’ career began in the mid- 2000s.
Have you ever wondered how rich Charles Kelley is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Kelley`s net worth is currently as high as $20 million, eared through his successful career in the entertainment industry. Apart from a successful career as a part of the band, Charles also has a respectable solo career, releasing his first solo album in February 2016 entitled “The Driver”, which reached No. 2 on the US Country chart.
Charles is the son of Gayle and John W. Kelley who is a cardiologist. He grew up in his hometown with two older brothers, and went to Lakeside High School in Evans, Georgia. After matriculation, Charles enrolled at the University of Georgia in Athens, from which he graduated in 2004 with a degree in finance.
His musical career beginnings trace back to childhood, when he and his brothers formed the band Inside Blue. They released a CD that consisted of five songs and gained the attention of some high profile producers and musicians, including James Brown himself.
Also while attending Lakeside High School, Charles met and befriended Dave Haywood, with whom he would later form Lady Antebellum. However, before Lady Antebellum was formed, Charles had come a long way, from working for his brother John in Winston Salem at his construction firm, to writing songs together with his other brother Josh Kelley in Nashville, who is now a pop and country star. While living in Nashville, Charles invited Dave to join him in writing songs, and the two soon met up with Hillary Scott, who is a daughter of the singer Linda Davis.
They formed their group in 2006, and two years later they released their debut self-titled album, which topped the US Country Chart, and achieved double platinum status in the US, increasing Charles’ net worth and encouraging him and the rest to continue to work together. The album spawned hits such as “Love Don’t Live Here” and “I Run to You”.
They continued successfully with a follow-up which came out in 2010, entitled “Need You Now”; the album topped the US Country chart, and achieved multi-platinum status in several countries, including Canada and the US.
Nothing changed for them in the upcoming years, and with albums “Own the Night” (2011), and “Golden” (2012), only proved their dominance on the country music scene. Their latest album came out in 2014, entitled “747”, which reached No. 2 on the US Country chart, and achieved gold status, adding further to Charles’ net worth.
Charles has also collaborated with other musicians, including Maroon 5, Luke Bryan, Danny Gokey and many others, which has also improved his wealth.
Regarding his personal life, Charles has been married to music agent Cassie McConnell since 2009; the couple has one child together. Charles likes to spend his free time on the golf course and is also a motorcycle enthusiast.
