Law Spiders Recognized as Virginia Leaders - law

When Virginia Business released its annual list of influential leaders, it came as no surprise to find Richmond Law Spiders among its ranks. The Virginia 500: The 2022-23 Power List includes nine Richmond Law alumni and faculty in the Law and Government/Politics categories.

Richard Cullen L’77, legal counselor to Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, is recognized as an influential leader in the Government/ Politics category. Prior to entering the public sector, Cullen led Virginia’s largest law firm, McGuireWoods, spending the majority of his 45-year career there with more than a decade as chairman.

Dean Wendy Perdue is recognized in the Law category for her leadership in legal education. She is also lauded for her advocacy to find solutions to the growing national eviction crisis that has followed the end of pandemic-era rent-relief programs and eviction moratoriums.

Professor Carl Tobias, also listed in the Law category, is praised for his prolific scholarly work, which includes more than 120 law review articles that have appeared in some of the nation’s top law journals.
